An American woman did not want to be in contact with her 13-year-old child to avoid getting infected. She took somewhat extreme measures.
The precautionary principle can sometimes lead to unsuspected behavior. This is the case of a former American teacher in Texas who preferred to put his son in the trunk of his car to avoid any risk of Covid contamination.
Indeed, as reported Sky NewsSarah Beam, 41, preferred to carry her 13-year-old Covid-positive son in the trunk of his vehicle.
She went to a testing center where people are tested in their cars for confirm her son’s infection.
But not wanting it to contaminate it, he was not sitting in the cabin of the vehicle.
She did not hide her son’s whereregardings when she arrived at the testing center
Once at the screening site in Houston on Friday, Jan.3, she requested that the test be carried out on his son who was in the trunk of the vehicle.
The center manager told him that no screening would be carried out if his child was not in the passenger compartment of the vehicle safely. He notified the police.
When the latter arrived at the scene, the teenager was sitting in the backseat of the car, but CCTV footage clearly showed that he had climbed out of the trunk into the back seat of the driven car. by his mother.
The mother, who had been put on administrative leave from her teaching position, was charged with endangering a child. He was not safely seated in the trunk.
She was arrested on the evening of Wednesday January 8.
