The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Africa reached 11,545,490 as of Saturday evening, according to the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
The Africa CDC, the specialized health agency of the African Union, said the death toll from the pandemic on the continent stood at 252,626. To date, some 10,867,632 patients have recovered from the disease on the continent, the Africa CDC said.
South Africa has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Africa at 3,879,434 cases, while Morocco has recorded 1,165,552 as of Saturday evening.
