COVID-19: the hecatomb continues at CH

The Montreal Canadiens added four new names to the list of players unavailable due to COVID-19 on Tuesday.

They are those of forwards Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and Jesse Ylonen, defender David Savard and goalkeeper Samuel Montembeault. By virtue of these additions, the Habs now have a contingent of 18 players inconvenienced by the virus.

Other items that were already subject to National League protocols regarding the coronavirus are attackers Brandon Baddock, Paul Byron, Laurent Dauphin, Jake Evans, Mike Hoffman, Artturi Lehkonen and Tyler Toffoli, defenders Ben Chiarot, Joel Edmundson, Jeff Petry , Alexander Romanov and Chris Wideman, as well as goalkeepers Jake Allen and Cayden Primeau.

In addition, the CH said assistant coach Trevor Letowski had also tested positive for COVID-19.

Last Saturday, the Canadian announced he was taking a break until Thursday, in an effort to curb the spread of the virus in his ranks. This is also the case for the Laval Rocket, the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge’s school club in the American Hockey League.

The Sainte-Flanelle is scheduled to resume action on Wednesday, January 12, with a visit to TD Garden to face the Boston Bruins.
