Covid is spreading rapidly in Wallis. This Wednesday, July 20, nearly 100 positive cases on the island, 14 new cases in 24 hours. Figures that are likely to increase further because screening tests do not cover everyone.
Since June 27, covid cases have continued to increase in Wallis. This Wednesday, July 20, 14 new positive cases were detected, i.e. a total of 97 cases, 77 of which were indigenous. According to the health agency, 24 people are no longer contagious. The incidence rate for the past seven days is 54.5 cases per 10,000 inhabitants, 545 per 100,000 inhabitants. The figures confirm a rapid spread of the virus on the fenua. They may be underrated, reporting by Lagimaina Hoatau and Soane Vakalepu.
