Covid-19 is still present in France, we take stock of the situation in your department.
After an upsurge in Covid-19 cases at the end of the summer holidays, the indicators decline in the fall. A clear improvement has been observed in recent weeks, even if the virus continues to circulate throughout the country.
Part of the Grand Est region is the most affected in France, according to the latest data from Public Health France for the period from October 23 to 29. Bas-Rhin displays an incidence rate of 87.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the highest in the country, when neighboring departments display a rate of between 57 and 76. As a reminder, at the start of the epidemic in 2020 , the alert threshold had been set at 50.
The latest report from Public Health France (dated November 2) shows “a decrease in indicators for Covid-19” across France, “except for a stabilization of emergency activity (passages and hospitalizations following passage) and an increase in the positivity rate in outpatient medicine. The indicators are decreasing for all age groups. But while recalling the need for elderly people to receive a booster dose because the virus is still present, a vaccination campaign has been launched in France since October 1.
