Covid-19: severe forms would cause a drop in IQ

More than two and a half years following the discovery of Covid-19, the virus which has caused the death of at least six million people around the world has not yet revealed all its secrets. Including its long-term consequences. British researchers have studied the cognitive disorders caused by the severe forms of the disease. And these are far from negligible.

According to scientists from the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London, whose work has been published in the journal eClinicalMedicine from The Lancet, the severe forms of Covid-19 would cause cognitive disorders similar to 20 years of aging, between 50 and 70 years. Either the equivalent, according toImperial Collegea loss of ten points of intelligence quotient (IQ).
