Covid-19: new vaccination campaign for the most vulnerable

The Norwegian Health Authority (HAS) requires a renewal of vaccination once morest Covid-19 for the oldest and most vulnerable people.

Why a new vaccination campaign?

The aim is to protect people at greatest risk of developing a severe form of the disease in anticipation of the summer period and the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games, sources of mixing of populations from around the world.

Who are the people affected by this recall?

The French health authorities via the website Service-Public.fr specify that ” are affected by this vaccination booster:

  • Persons over 80 years of age;
  • Immunocompromised persons, regardless of age;
  • People living in nursing homes (accommodation places for dependent elderly) or USLDs (long-term care units), regardless of age;
  • As well as any person at very high risk according to each individual medical situation and as part of a medical decision shared with the healthcare team. »

Depending on the current epidemiological situation, an extension of this new campaign may be considered beyond 15 July.

When should you get the vaccine booster?

This can happen now as long as it is carried out 3 months following the last injection or last Covid-19 infection.

A menstrual reminder – depending on age, situation, last injection/infection etc. – is available at Service-Public.fr.

Who can give the vaccine?

This reminder can be given directly within the structures for residents of nursing homes (accommodation places for dependent elderly) and USLD (long-term care units) and by a general practitioner or specialist, a pharmacist, a nurse, a midwife for all other persons, as well as by health personnel in hospital wards for persons who monitored.
