Covid-19 Makes a Comeback in Singapore: Daily Cases Surge to 2000

Singapore Health Minister Ong Yee Kang informed that the country is facing another wave of Covid. 2000 new covid cases are reported daily. It was 1000 till three weeks ago. The minister also warns that cases are likely to increase in the coming days.

This is the most reported omicron variant of covid. He also informed that there is no intention to implement any restrictions including social distancing. The last time there was a Covid wave in Singapore was in April. At that time, up to 4000 cases were reported daily.

Hospitals have also been instructed to make preparations as more people are likely to fall ill in the coming days. The health minister also said that the current covid vaccine is effective.
