Here is the update on the health situation linked to the coronavirus epidemic in Brittany communicated by the ARS this Friday, April 22:
“The improvement of the COVID-19 epidemiological situation at the regional level is confirmed. Incidence rates are indeed dropping markedly. However, hospital activity, which recorded a slight decline, is still very high.
In this context of hospital tension, for any medical need that cannot wait for the opening of medical practices, always call 15 before going to the emergency room.
Epidemiological point
Brittany records 30,753 new positive cases since April 15.
The incidence rate2 now amounts to 1,025.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (-510.2 points1) at the regional level with a positivity rate3 RT-PCR and antigen tests of 42,3 %.
Care of Covid-19 patients in hospital in Brittany :
· 614 hospitalizations for COVID reasons in progress (-391), dont
o 50 in the intensive care unit (+4)
o 405 in conventional medicine (-451)
· since the beginning of the epidemic:
o 18 268 hospitalized patients returned home (+6241) ;
o 2 691 patients died (+531).
Screening dynamics
In Brittany, 93,147 (RT-PCR and antigens) were carried out between April 14 and 20.
Vaccination dynamics
Au 21/04, 7 901 826 injections were performed in Brittany.
The vaccination coverage (at least one dose) of the Breton population is 84,5 % all ages and 96,6 % for ages 12 and up.
Complete vaccination schedules
In Brittany, 86,6 % of the population eligible for the booster vaccine received their booster dose either, 2 363 690 injections.
At the departmental level, these data relating to the vaccination booster:
· In the Côtes d’Armor87% of the population eligible for the booster vaccine received their booster dose, i.e. 399,894 injections.
· In Finistère, 88.3% of the population eligible for the booster vaccine received their booster dose, i.e. 674,515 injections.
· In Ille-et-Vilaine, 85.6% of the population eligible for the booster vaccine received their booster dose, i.e. 763,451 injections.
· In Morbihan, 85.6% of the population eligible for the booster vaccine received their booster dose, i.e. 525,830 injections.
