Here is the update on the health situation linked to the coronavirus epidemic in Brittany communicated by the ARS this Friday, April 15, 2022. Figures which reflect a mixed situation: a drop in the incidence rate but a continuous increase in hospital admissions. ‘hospital:
“The health indicators reflect a slight improvement in the COVID-19 epidemiological situation at the regional level. However, while incidence rates are decreasing, hospital activity continues to increase. You are reminded to systematically call 15 before going to the emergency room for all medical needs that cannot wait for the opening of the medical offices.
ARS Bretagne and the Regional Prefecture call for increased vigilance, on the maintenance of barrier gestures and the protection of the most fragile populations.
In this context of still active circulation of the virus, it is also recommended to inject the second booster dose, now extended to all people aged 60 and over, in order to strengthen protection once morest serious forms of disease and prevent death.
For people aged 80 and over, residents of nursing homes and long-term care units, this new injection can be performed as early as 3 months following the 1st booster or an infection. For people aged 60 to 79, this period increases to 6 months.
Epidemiological point
Brittany has recorded 47,801 new positive cases since April 8.
The incidence rate (2) now stands at 1,535.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (-140.2 points (1)) at regional level with a positivity rate3 for RT-PCR and antigen tests of 41, 3%.

o 46 in the intensive care unit (+2)
o 450 in conventional medicine (+371)
• since the start of the epidemic:
o 17,644 hospitalized patients returned home (+6,761);
o 2,638 patients died (+501).
