The Minister of Health of Marcelo Queiroga, confirmed this Tuesday that the first two cases of the new variant of known as “deltacron”.

It should be noted that the “deltacron” is the result of a merger between the delta and omicron variants.

At the press conference, Queiroga pointed out that both cases have been registered in the north of the country, exactly in Pará and Amapá, which border the Suriname and French Guiana.

For the minister, the appearance of the new mutation forces the authorities to place more emphasis on vaccination once morest COVID-19.

What is known regarding the “deltacron”?

The World Health Organization confirmed that the mixture Delta AY.4 and Omicron B.1. existed, but so far it has not been reported as more serious.

Deltacron Symptoms

The WHO has not detected changes “in epidemiology or in severity” of your symptoms. So we can talk regarding the variants:

  • Delta: Headache, sore throat, runny nose, fever, and elevated pulse.
  • Omicron: Fatigue, muscle pain, runny nose, sneezing, headache, and sore throat.

Where did the first cases occur?

Initially, the cases occurred in France, the Netherlands and Denmark. However, the danger was low.

The WHO did not recognize “deltacron”, as it was attributed as cross-contamination from a laboratory.
