The Covid-19 epidemic is on the rise once more in Ardèche, while a measles epidemic has been reported in Guilherand-Granges.
L’Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional health agency just issued two epidemic alerts this week. First, Covid-19 circulation, which has never really gone away, is increasing, with falling temperatures. Even if the level of circulation remains moderate, 4,390 cases were detected in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region during week 37 (from September 11 to 17), an increase of 8% compared to the previous week (4 057 in week 36, versus 2,847 in week 35). During this same period, 449 visits to the emergency room (all ages) for suspected Covid-19 were reported in the region compared to 433 visits recorded during the previous week. The circulation of Covid-19 affects all age groups but the highest detection rates concern those over 75. In the current context of greater circulation of the virus, a vaccination campaign once morest Covid-19 will start on October 2 with vaccines adapted to the majority circulating variant (Omicron XBB). As for the flu vaccination campaign, it will begin on October 17.
Eleven cases of measles at Guilherand college
Furthermore, another epidemic is underway in the Guilherand-Granges sector. It concerns measles with eleven cases detected at Charles-de-Gaulle college. A call for vaccination has been launched to avoid catching this other very contagious disease!
