Covid-19. 20,000 slots to get vaccinated in Pays de la Loire

20,000 anti-Covid vaccination slots are available by the end of the week on the site Doctolib in the Pays de la Loire. The ARS has just launched an appeal to people who risk losing their vaccination pass for lack of being up to date with their reminders. There is urgency because if more than 81% of the regional population received two doses, only 59% received three doses. From February 15, 2022, to keep your vaccination pass, you will have to take your booster dose and have a complete vaccination schedule.

It is pediatric vaccination that “skates” a little: out of 343,205 young people aged 5 to 11, no more than 5.8% are first-time vaccinated. (i.e. 19,903 young people).

“Match not finished”

“If the Covid contaminations are lower, underlined Jean-Jacques Coiplet, director of the ARS of Pays de la Loire, there are still great tensions, the game is not over. » In terms of figures, in the Pays de la Loire, 1,066 people are hospitalized for Covid and 93 are in intensive care. “For the proper use of emergencies, you should only go there for real emergencies. Otherwise call 15 or 116/117. »

Eleven deaths per day

The director of the ARS describes the situation in the Pays de la Loire as“encouraging and paradoxical”. The positivity rate is 39.7% and the incidence rate is 2,803 per 100,000 inhabitants. The epidemic recedes with a reproduction number below 1. ” That’s very good news “, underlined Dr. Pierre Blaise, director of the regional health project. He recalls, however, that “Covid still kills at the rate of 11 deaths per day over a period of 7 days, mostly people who are unvaccinated or over the age of 65. »

This Thursday evening, the ARS also identified 207 clusters, including 113 in nursing homes: “The medico-social is very affected”, observes Jean-Jacques Coiplet.
