The national federation of pharmacists’ unions in Morocco convened an emergency federal council on Monday, March 20, 2023 with the agenda: the Report of the Court of Auditors.

To discuss the “report of the Court of Auditors”, the “campaign damaging the image of the Pharmacist” and “union measures and actions”, the National Federation of Moroccan Pharmacists’ Unions invited the Federal Office to a emergency council on Monday March 20 at 2 p.m.

The recent report of the Court of Audit dwelt on the subject of drug prices. He argues that prices are “impacted by the margins of wholesalers and pharmacies”, as well as by “the rate of VAT which exceeds those applied” by foreign countries, subject of a benchmark.

The Court of Auditors explains that the margins of pharmacies vary between 47% and 57% for drugs whose factory price, excluding costs, is less than or equal to 588 dirhams, and for drugs whose manufacturing price exceeds 558 dirhams, these margins oscillate between 300 and 400 dirhams per box. Elements that pharmacists dispute.
