This is strange news reported this morning by the South Morning China Post. Indeed, a couple from China decided to charge the owner of an AirBnB, an apartment in Seoul, following he refused to cancel their reservation. After making sure there was no CCTV, the couple intentionally turned on all lights and electronics non-stop. They didn’t stop there and then left the water and gas taps open. In total, their little ride lasted 25 days. To make sure their plan was working, they even visited the site every three days.
It was finally the gas company that notified the owner following noticing the drastic increase in consumption, thinking of a leak. In total, the owner will have received the very hefty bill of 1,430 euros for water, gas and electricity. The couple had obviously already left the country when the poor man discovered the pot of roses. The AirBnB platform does not cover utility bills, unfortunately it may not get that money back.
