Bloodhounds from the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc) arrested a couple accused of robbing and stealing vehicles in the Caroní municipality.
The director of the Cicpc, Commissioner Douglas Rico, revealed that the man (30 years old) and the woman (32 years old) perpetrated their misdeeds in different sectors of Ciudad Guayana.
After carrying out an exhaustive field investigation, the commission finally managed to capture them in the Bello Horizonte sector of the Unare parish.
After being taken to the scientific police headquarters, the authorities notified the case to the Fourth Prosecutor of the Public Ministry, where they will be accused of the crime of armed vehicle theft.
They threatened the victims
Rico gave details regarding the way the couple approached their victims. He explained that they were being stalked in the San Félix passenger terminal, and that they were subjected to Gumilla avenue in the Simón Bolívar parish.
With firearms, they threatened the drivers with death so that they would get out of their vehicles without resisting.
The robbers took the cars to wooded and isolated areas. There, they looted them to later market their parts and pieces.
As a final action, they incinerated the cars. In this way, they made sure to erase any evidence that might incriminate them.

In the course of the apprehension, bits and pieces were recovered from an Optra, year 2009, with plates AB479MV, totally incinerated.
They also collected a 38-millimeter Smith & Wesson revolver; and identity documents.
They are looking for three others.
The scientific police are still searching for three other criminals, who are allegedly engaged in stealing vehicles, and have links to those apprehended. They are known by the aliases of “el Wicho”, “el Negro” and “Eliannys”.
