Alamance – Police arrested a couple for having a gun in their possession on the Western Alamance High School campus.
They were identified as Kathleen Grace Wilson 18 years old and currently enrolled in school, and Nathem Samuel Seger 18-year-old former student of the school, reported the Office from the Alamance County Sheriff.
In the car they were traveling in last Friday, August 20, a black air pistol was found in a holster, as well as a THC vaporizer or vape, he detailed.
For these events, both were arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.
They were later brought before a magistrate.
Seger is accused of:
- Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer
- Possession of Schedule VI Substances (Vape Pen with THC)
- Reckless driving
For these crimes, bail was set at $1,000.
While Wilson is accused of:
- Misdemeanor Possession of a Weapon on Educational Property.
For this crime, he made a written promise to appear at a hearing.
They were inside the car with the gun
The arrest was reported to have taken place around 8:20 in the morning.
It was school staff who notified the Sheriff’s School Resource Officer (SRO) about a vehicle that was driving erratically in the student parking lot.
The SRO attempted to contact the occupants of the vehicle, who had parked in a school parking space.
However, the driver of the vehicle left the parking lot at a high rate of speed and collided with a tractor and a pole belonging to the Alamance Burlington School System.
Following the collision, the SRO detained the driver and a passenger of the vehicle.
Sheriff’s deputies located a weapon (a black BB gun in a paddle holster) on the floorboard of the vehicle the couple was traveling in.
A THC vaporizer was also found in the vehicle.
