The arrest was reported to have taken place around 8:20 in the morning.

It was school staff who notified the Sheriff’s School Resource Officer (SRO) about a vehicle that was driving erratically in the student parking lot.

The SRO attempted to contact the occupants of the vehicle, who had parked in a school parking space.

However, the driver of the vehicle left the parking lot at a high rate of speed and collided with a tractor and a pole belonging to the Alamance Burlington School System.

Following the collision, the SRO detained the driver and a passenger of the vehicle.

Sheriff’s deputies located a weapon (a black BB gun in a paddle holster) on the floorboard of the vehicle the couple was traveling in.

A THC vaporizer was also found in the vehicle.
