Coupe de France: Versailles has still not found a stadium for its semi-final

A real headache. The soap opera continues, in fact to know the identity of the stadium which will host the semi-final of the Coupe de France between FC Versailles (N2) and Nice, 3rd in Ligue 1. The epilogue is scheduled for this Tuesday. The leaders of Petit Poucet had until Monday to communicate a stadium to the French Federation (FFF). But, they failed to find him. The FFF then granted them an additional 24 hours to find a solution.

After having dreamed of the option of the Parc des Princes, finally canceled following 48 hours because the PSG will chain the matches in March at the Parc des Princes including that of the women’s team once morest Bayern Munich, the Versailles were aiming the Charléty stadium, one of the other approved venues in Île-de-France (along with the Stade de France). But, according to our information, the rental and organization costs are heavy with a cost of between 100,000 and 120,000€. And the formation of N2 is not sure to fill a stadium with 20,000 seats.

Two other possibilities are also under consideration. Those first of a stadium outside the Paris region but not too far like the MM Arena in Le Mans or the Pierre-Brisson stadium in Beauvais. The possibility of a reversal of the meeting at the Allianz Riviera in Nice cannot be ruled out even if it is the last option desired by the Versaillese.

In addition to the identity of the stadium, the schedule and probably the date of the meeting should change. The match was originally scheduled for Wednesday March 2 with a kick-off at 9 p.m. The date imposed itself because Nice will travel to Strasbourg on Sunday February 27 (kick-off at 1 p.m.) on behalf of the 26th day of L1, before receiving PSG on Saturday March 5 during of the 27th day. The Niçois might therefore only play their semi-final of the Coupe de France on Wednesday March 2 once morest Petit Poucet des Yvelines. But France Television, which has the first choice, favored the other semi-final between FC Nantes and AS Monaco and therefore imposed that the meeting be played on Wednesday March 2 at 9 p.m.

Two possibilities are therefore available at Versailles: play on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. but the schedule does not please either the club or the other broadcaster, Eurosport. The second possibility would be to schedule this opposition on Tuesday evening. But for that, the Amazon Prime broadcaster must agree to postpone the Strasbourg meeting to Saturday February 26 so that the people of Nice have three days between this L1 match and their Coupe de France semi-final. The race once morest time is on.
