Here is finally a big smile in the PSG women’s season. Under the gloom of the Camp des Loges, the Parisiennes outclassed the Lyonnaises (3-0) thanks to goals from Sandy Baltimore, Kadidiatou Diani and Marie-Antoinette Katoto. They qualify for the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France and take a nice revenge following the correction received in the league in November (6-1).
What you must remember
They can therefore tell each other: the 6-1 received in the league was indeed an accident, largely caused by the aggression suffered by Kheira Hamraoui. This PSG team, reigning French champions, is still capable of competing with OL. And that’s what she proved on the lawn of the Georges-Lefèvre stadium.
Very early on, the Parisiennes showed their desire to fight in this meeting. And they undoubtedly had the best opportunities of the first period thanks to the presence of Marie-Antoinette Katoto (3rd, 20th, 29th) or Geyoro (44th). Opposite, under the eyes of President Jean-Michel Aulas, the Lyonnaises approach Votikova’s cage only too little, with the exception of strikes signed Cascarino (35th) and Morroni (39th).
The bad news for the Lyon side comes from the injury of Chris Endler. Affected in the adductors, the former Parisian gave way before the break to Emma Holmgren (44th). When they return from the locker room, PSG are always the most enterprising. And is rewarded for his intentions: following a big chance from Ilestedt’s head, Baltimore controls the ball at the entrance to the area and lands a nice decisive half-volley (49th).
A goal that opened up the spaces on the counterattack. The turning point comes in the 75th minute of play. A missed duel and a bar for the Lyonnaises. On the following action, Diani did not miss and scored 2-0.
Hungry, the Parisiennes do not stop there. They offer themselves a magnificent victory thanks to a last goal signed Katoto at the end of the match (85th). Three achievements signed by pure Parisiennes, who therefore hold their revenge and one of the greatest successes in their history.
Player: Barbora Votikova
She had taken six in Lyon in November. This time, the Czech did not concede a goal despite the opposing offensive power (Hegerberg, Le Sommer, Cascarino, Malard…). His toe-off save face-to-face with Malard (66th) was decisive for the Parisiennes. She slightly touches the ball on the heavy shot from Marozsan (75th) who finds the crossbar. The hinge Dudek-Ilestedt and the laterals Lawrence and Karchaoui also signed a good defensive performance.
The number: 170
The shock might not be held at the Parc des Princes or at the Jean-Bouin stadium due to the different calendars. But despite the distance from the Camp des Loges, in Saint-Germain-en-Laye (Yvelines), the members of the Collectif ultras Paris responded present.
Numbering 170, they requisitioned the entire quota of available “standing” places behind the barriers. And the ultras gave voice for 90 minutes with warm encouragement but also more insulting songs. Very noticed, their presence was welcomed by the players at the end of the match.
