Edit: According to Woj the Spurs will cut the Italian well, who will become a free agent. According to the Gazzetta Dello Sport he will sign with the Boston Celtics. He will sign a 2-year contract for 13 million dollars with a player option, the taxpayer mid-level exception of 6.5 million dollars.
He will bring the scoring and experience off the bench that the Celtics lacked and had listed as a priority need.

11 a.m.: The San Antonio Spurs, who have recovered Danilo Gallinari in the trade of Dejounte Murray, should cut him since his contract is not fully guaranteed. Indeed, if they get rid of him before July 8, they will only pay 5 million dollars out of the 21.45 million he is due this season.
The franchises would have already positioned themselves to recover it and quite a few would be interested. According to the Gazzetta Dello Sport there would be the Lakers, the Heat, the Wolves and especially the Bulls and the Celtics.
If we believe Jake Fisher, everything would be played between two. The Boston Celtics on one side and the Chicago Bulls on the other. However, according to the Italian media, the Bulls would still hold the rope.
It must be said that the Bulls would offer $15 million over two years and the Celtics $6.5 million over one year.
Bulls currently favorite to land Danilo Gallinari, per sources. Chicago is offering a 2yr, $15M deal and Gallo favors length of deal/role over money. Boston, Miami, Lakers, Wolves still in the mix but the Bulls are the favorite. Boston offered a 1yr/$6.5M deal, per sources

Sounds like Danilo Gallinari will be deciding between Chicago and Boston for his next team. The Bulls have much of the full MLE to offer, roughly $8M AAV and a hair more than the Celtics. But Boston appears to be Gallo’s preferred landing spot.
