Because complaints once morest the 220 kV supply ring planned in the central area of Linz have a suspensive effect according to a court ruling (we have reported), the states have now launched a push towards federal lawmakers. On Friday, the state energy representatives unanimously decided on an initiative that, among other things, calls for the burden of proof to be reversed in the case of complaints for projects such as an efficient electricity infrastructure, so that a “suspending effect of complaints should generally be excluded by law”. This is also the case with the trade regulations, said Economics Councilor Markus Achleitner.
The federal states also called on the federal government to end the skimming of excess profits from state energy companies at the end of the year. These gains are essential for the rapid implementation of the energy transition.
