Where to get vaccinated against yellow fever?
The Ministries of Health of each country are authorized to carry out immunizations against yellow fever and issue the certificate approved by the WHO.
In Venezuela, the health portfolio usually carries out operations, while the rest of the time interested parties can go to the Authorized Centers for the Issuance of International Vaccination Certificates.
Some private centers also administer the vaccine, however, in order for it to be used in the event of a trip to a high-risk country, it must be certified by the official health entity.
Which countries require the yellow fever vaccine?
The list of countries that require vaccination against yellow fever may vary over time or depending on the epidemiological situation that occurs in a region, for example, if an outbreak of the virus occurs in a country not included in the list.
“The WHO-approved international yellow fever vaccination certificate guarantees lifelong immunity, eliminating the need for booster doses for international travel,” states the WHO regulations.

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) clarifies that vaccination against yellow fever may even be recommended for all travelers in countries where it is not considered mandatory.
Additional recommendations for travelers
International health organizations recommend, in addition to vaccination, taking other precautions to prevent mosquito bites in high-risk areas:
-Use insect repellents.
-Wear light, long-sleeved clothing.
-If you go to the jungle or stay outdoors, you should sleep under mosquito nets impregnated with insecticide.
-Avoid as much as possible staying in areas with abundant vegetation and stagnant water.
The WHO also urges maintaining surveillance at the borders through tests to rule out suspected cases.
