Countries Demand Protection for Journalists Covering Ukraine War After ‘Proven Attacks’ | World

More than fifty countries joined this Friday at the United Nations to condemn the deaths of several journalists in Ukraine and demand protection for media professionals who are covering the Russian invasion.

“The immediate physical safety of journalists and media workers on the ground – both Ukrainian and international – is our main concern amid the growing number of verified reports of attacks once morest them by Russian forces and the relentless escalation of hostilities once morest civilians,” they said in a statement.

The statement further condemns “all efforts to silence and limit independent coverage” of the invasion within Russia itself, accusing the Moscow authorities of intimidating and harassing journalists and blocking the work of independent media.
