**A:** Dyscalculia basically means I have trouble with numbers. ItS not that I’m not intelligent, it’s just that my brain doesn’t process numbers the way most people’s do. Simple things like counting, doing basic math, or even reading a clock can be incredibly challenging for me.



**Q:** How did you discover you had dyscalculia?



**A:** It’s funny, I always knew something was different about how I worked with numbers. I just assumed everyone struggled with it to some extent. it wasn’t until recently that I learned about dyscalculia and realized that this was what I’d been dealing with my whole life.



**Q:** Emma, as someone who is a vocal advocate for education and neurodiversity, what are your thoughts on Larry’s openness about dyscalculia?



**A:** I think it’s incredibly brave of Larry to speak out.



His story highlights the fact that dyscalculia is real, it’s common, and it doesn’t define a person’s abilities or potential. Larry is a world-renowned musician, and his success shows that people with learning differences can achieve anything they set their minds to.

**A:**



it’s definitely been a challenge, but music is my passion. I’ve learned to develop strategies and coping mechanisms to work around my difficulties. Sometimes that involves relying on others to help with things like setting tempos or counting bars, but ultimately, my love for music drives me to find a way.

**A:** Remember,you are not alone. There are others out there who understand what you’re going through. Don’t let your learning differences define you. Find your strengths, pursue your passions, and believe in yourself.
