Monday’s major update to Counter-Strike 2 not only resulted in bug fixes and improvements, but also triggered a wave of unwarranted VAC bans among players worldwide. Commenting on the incident, a Valve spokesperson said they are working to restore the accounts of all those affected. This doesn’t fully satisfy those affected as their trust factor in the game has been broken. Some of the statuses from the many comments now available to read online: “Why do I have a red trust factor?” “I just recently got unbanned and this happened.” “I’m trying to understand why my trust factor went red today for no reason, “I’ve been playing with this account since 2016. I had a phone number, mobile authenticator, Prime, etc., and it suddenly went red. Why is this happening? In other words, it’s clear that before the mess caused by the update was fully restored, Valve still has some work to do. But hopefully order will be restored in a few days.
