Adiaké Sept 14, 2022 (AIP) – The NGO UFFACEDOS (Fraternal Union of Women for the Development and Assistance of Vulnerable People) raised awareness, on Wednesday September 14, 2022, of the populations of Adiaké on the Marburg virus disease, in the conference room of the sub-prefecture of Adiaké.
“We are here to invite you to become aware of the disease in order to take preventive measures and avoid it,” said the executive director of the NGO, Akobé Josephine Coulibaly.
Ms. Akobé pointed out that Marburg virus disease has the same signs as Ebola virus disease, namely a sudden fever, severe headaches and severe malaise, watery diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.
She advised that in case of appearance of one of its signs, the concerned should approach a health center, because this disease does not have a vaccine for the moment.
The central sub-prefect of Adiaké, Bakayoko Ibrahim, called on the participants to make a broad echo around them so that the population is sufficiently informed.
The NGO UFFASEDOS started this awareness campaign on September 05, 2022. It went successively to Aboisso, Noé, Tiapoum, Adiaké and Assinie Mafia.
