Costanera Mejía: Motorcyclist dies after frontal collision with bus

A teenager with initials GCQ (16) died instantly following frontally impacting the linear motorcycle he was driving once morest an interprovincial passenger transport bus.

The fateful accident occurred this Sunday morning in the upper part of the Costanera highway near the area known as “La Nueva Mejía” in the district of Mejía, in circumstances that the bus of the Transportes Tacna company with license plate B7E- 962 was going in a north-south direction, violently impacting the motorcycle. The victim would be a native of Mollendo.

Police officers from the Mejía police station arrived at the scene, intervening the bus driver identified as Miguel Ángel Medina Luque for the respective procedures, such as alcohol dosage.

The case was reported to the prosecutor’s office for the removal of the body and was awaited by the personnel of the Arequipa Traffic Accident Investigation Directorate. (With information from mollendinos.com).


BUS WITH BACKGROUND

  • It is not the first time that this bus causes a fatal accident. On January 23, 2021, it collided head-on with a motorcyclist in the district of Santiago, province and region of Ica, leaving a 24-year-old man dead.
