Conservative Rodrigo Chaves has a 5-point advantage over his centrist opponent Jose Maria Figueres in the presidential election in Costa Rica, the electoral tribunal announced following counting 89% of the ballots.
Rodrigo Chaves, a 60-year-old economist whose image was tarnished by a case of sexual harassment, obtained 52.9% of the votes, once morest 47.1% for Jose Maria Figueres, according to the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE).
