David Verger, Layennais living in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, exhibits his works at the Robert-Tatin museum.
Like Robert Tatin, through his assertive pictorial commitment, David Verger opens the doors to a fabulous universe mixing elusive landscapes and images of a possible humanity,
executive Bruno Godivier, director of the museum. From his childhood, the Mayenne countryside inspired his taste for artistic creation. His work is called Here and elsewhere. Since the 2000s, he has also painted portraits of children. He starts his painting with old family photos, these are false portraits, what interests him is not the resemblance to reality but the distortion of it.
David Verger, the artist, says: My paintings are never finished. Sometimes I rework a painting more than three or four years following I started it.
Until December 31, exhibition Here and Elsewhere by David Verger, at the Robert-Tatin Museum.
