The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in Egypt announced, on Thursday, the discovery of a gammal corridor on the northern face of the Khufu pyramid, with a length of 9 meters and a width of 2 meters.
The Supreme Council of Antiquities stated that the Pyramids Exploration Project revealed the existence of a corridor inside the Khufu pyramid, which is likely to reduce loads.

The project to explore the pyramids began in 2015, between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in cooperation with the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, and the Institute for Heritage Preservation and Innovation in Paris (HIP).
“We used a robot to walk through the discovered corridor and reach its end,” said antiquities expert Zahi Hawass, noting that “King Khufu’s burial chamber has not been discovered yet.”
Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa stressed that the pyramids are the most important and prominent monuments in the world, and visiting them was and still is the dream of millions around the world, and the Egyptian state is keen to pay attention to Egypt’s antiquities and civilization.
