Corruption will perish; ‘The Wajib’ portal to complain

Abu Dhabi: A special portal called ‘The Wajib’ has been launched in Abu Dhabi to report corruption. The move is part of efforts to rid the country and the economy of corruption.

The Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority said the names of the reporters would be kept confidential. Illegal financial transactions, proceedings and corruption can be reported on the portal.

The authority said this was part of ensuring good governance, transparency and accountability in government and public sector institutions. Corruption can be reported to employees, customers, distributors and the general public.

Those who support anti-corruption activities will be protected by law. The platform is designed in a confidential manner to protect the privacy of the complainants. This will increase transparency, integrity and accountability in economic and governance interventions.

The complainant will be contacted to verify the authenticity following reviewing the confidential reports received by the Authority. The code will be sent to the registered mobile and the identity of the complainant will be ascertained. Only following confirming other relevant information will action be taken once morest the corrupt. The link to complain is wajib.adaa.gov.ae
