Corruption in Myanmar: General Sentenced to Five Years in Prison by Military Court

Bangkok: A military court has sentenced a general who was a member of Myanmar’s ruling council to five years in prison in a corruption case. Home Minister and member of the State Administration Council Lt. General Suu Htut was convicted.

Several senior officials have been jailed since the military seized power. The main charge once morest him is that he asked his subordinates to grant him a passport by accepting bribes from various companies.
