Vienna/Innsbruck(OTS) –

Yesterday’s storms in Tyrol and Vorarlberg also severely affected the Arlberg Pass road, which is a diversion of the Arlberg Tunnel, which will be closed until November. About 40 meters of the road on the Vorarlberg side were demolished. ASFINAG has issued corresponding traffic information on all access routes and in Bavaria so that traffic can be diverted to the remaining diversions in a timely manner. Heavy traffic has to go through Germany. By car, Vorarlberg can be reached from Imst along the B 198 via Lechtal.

It is currently unclear how long the Arlberg Pass road will be closed.

ASFINAG employees assist in St. Anton

To support the state and community in repairing storm damage, ASFINAG parked St. Anton Highway Maintenance Department employees and several vehicles (tunnel washers, wheel loaders, cleaners and trucks). Five ASFINAG employees are on duty since Saturday morning and have been helping emergency organizations clear roads affected by floods and mudslides on the Tyrol side.
