Shortstop Carlos Correa’s mega-contract with the Mets has hit a snag as the team has raised concerns with the Puerto Rican’s medical file, a source told MLB.com on Saturday.
It has been reported that both sides are working to find a solution, but it is not clear when that might take place.
Ken Rosenthal and Dan Hayes of The Athletic reported Saturday that the concern is with Correa’s operated right leg. The shortstop underwent surgery to repair a fractured right fibula in 2014, when Correa was still in the minors. But the injury hasn’t caused him any lost time since he made his major league debut with the Astros in 2015.
