The raid is also verified by the Attorney General, Rodolfo Delgado, and the Minister of Housing, Michelle Sol.
Likewise, the prosecutor’s office raided the home of its main leaders, resulting in the capture of Leticia Farfán and Rodrigo Javier Gómez Farfán, “leaders of this scam carried out on many Salvadoran families,” the institution accused.
“The defendants lived in luxurious residences in exclusive areas of El Salvador, places where searches have also been carried out, managing to seize $37,919.73 dollars in cash and five vehicles,” the FGR detailed.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, ARGOZ is dedicated to selling properties in the rural area of the country, without being the owners, therefore, without having the legal permits to make the parcels.
The FGR adds that the subdivision company offered the properties at affordable prices, ranging between $1,000 and $5,000, with payment facilities, and made promise-of-sale contracts in the name of other companies to whom the victims paid very low fees.
But once the payments were completed, the buyers tried to register them in the CNR and that was when they realized that the lands were not registered as property of the ARGOZ corporation, therefore they might not carry out the due procedures.
