The approval of the coronavirus self-tests continues to generate discordant opinions. While the president of the Argentine Pharmaceutical Confederation (COFA), Isabel Reinoso, considered that the self-evaluation tests approved by Anmat will allow the traceability of epidemiological data and stressed that “they are an important tool to cut the chain of transmission”, from the Argentine Society of Intensive Care expressed their “dissatisfaction” with this approval.
The head of COFA dismissed the possibility of epidemiological data being lost with the use of self-tests, since “today with technology we cannot be saying that data is lost.” “Furthermore, the data to be collected is not complex,” said the pharmacist in relation to the operation of the four tests approved by Anmat and produced by the Abbott, Roche, Vyam Group and Wiener laboratories.
