Queen Elizabeth II of England has tested positive for coronavirus and now has “mild symptoms,” Buckingham Palace announced on Sunday.

The 95-year-old monarch has become ill following her direct contact with her eldest son and heir, Charles, Prince of Wales, was confirmed before he tested positive for coronavirus once more.

“Her Majesty is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but expects to continue light duty at Windsor over the next week,” the Royal Palace said in a statement.

“The queen will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all appropriate regulations,” adds the note, collected by Sky News.

The sources of the British chain point out that the monarch has received the complete schedule of the coronavirus vaccine plus a booster dose.
