There were 3117 cases and 47 hospitalizations per day during the past week. The trend is towards a certain stagnation.

The canton of Vaud retains the highest incidence in French-speaking Switzerland, with 525 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over the past 14 days. Swiss average: 492.

21,817 new people tested positive in one week, 327 additional hospitalizations and 25 new deaths recorded in Switzerland and Liechtenstein: this is the assessment of the pandemic, according to data from the Federal Office of Public Health (OFSP) communicated on Tuesday .

According to these weekly figures, we therefore have 3,117 cases and 47 hospitalizations per day during the past week. Last week, we had a slightly higher number of cases: 3340 per day, but fewer hospitalizations (40 per day).

In the last seven days, 63,635 tests have been carried out. The PCR test positivity rate is 42% (44.4% for rapid antigen tests). The intensive care unit occupancy rate is 75.1%: 6.3% Covid patients and 68.8% non-Covid.

In total, since the start of the pandemic, Switzerland has counted 13,559 deaths, 57,014 hospitalizations and 3,994,386 people who tested positive for coronavirus.

With 492 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (659 last Tuesday), the fourteen-day incidence rate in Switzerland is lower than that of all its neighbors, according to WHO figures: France (763), Germany (983), Italy (1095) and Austria (1155).

Switzerland has 69.28% of its population fully vaccinated and 0.98% partially. 44.16% of the population received a booster dose. This proportion is 78.4% among those aged 65 and over.
