secret, viewers finally witnessed his character, Mason, tragically lose

A Year of Emotional Preparation
Luca shared that he discovered Mason’s fate around February or March
of the previous year, giving him ample time to prepare emotionally and
thoroughly research the sensitive topic. “I found out around February or
March time so it was a long time coming,” he explained.”It gave me the
chance to do a lot of research into the storyline which was great.”
Exhaustion and Fulfillment on Set
Describing the filming process as “exhausting but amazing,” Luca
emphasized his passion for tackling such a powerful storyline.”I was so focused and a storyline like this is what you crave as an actor”, he said.
He commended the supportive crew for creating an habitat that allowed
him to fully immerse himself in the emotional journey.
“I love the long days and working my butt off and even filming outside in
the cold.Every single day I would wake up and be absolutely buzzing to go to work.
The full crew were so supportive and created an environment that you coudl
put yourself in that emotional headspace and get on with it.
“It was an amazing experience filming those scenes.”

Despite the emotional toll, Luca expressed immense gratitude for the
opportunity to begin his professional acting career at Coronation Street.
“Of course when I first heard there was a mixture of emotions because I
was sad that Mason was going to die and that means I would be leaving,
but equally I was realy excited and honored to be part of this
storyline because it’s an incredibly important issue that needs to be
tackled.
“I feel so privileged to have had this opportunity and what a great time
I’ve had,” he added.
While viewers witnessed the tear-jerking conclusion to mason’s story,
Luca admitted he chose not to watch the episode, stating: “I don’t
especially like to watch myself with other people anyway, so I’m not
sure if I could watch this one with anyone.”
