Dr. Hossam Mowafi, Professor of Critical Cases at the Faculty of Medicine, Kasr Al-Ainy, revealed a common symptom that calls for a speedy visit to the doctor, because it indicates coronary artery disease.

Muwafi said during his program “My Lord, Increase Me in Knowledge”, broadcast on Sada Al-Balad channel, that chest pain is a symptom that indicates a risk of coronary artery disease.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), patients with coronary artery disease have symptoms other than chest pain, including:
– dizziness.
Nausea.
Cold sweats.
General weakness.
– shortness of breath.
Pain in the shoulders or arms.

The professor of critical care medicine explained that there are groups more susceptible to coronary artery disease, namely:
– Diabetics.
High pressure patients.
Cholesterol disease.
– smokers.
Postmenopausal women.

He stressed that coronary artery disease may be hereditary in some cases, especially if a family member of the first degree, such as the father or mother, was previously diagnosed with it.
