Coronademo organizer in court for Holocaust denial

A prominent representative of the Upper Austrian anti-coronavirus scene, who has organized numerous demos, will have to stand trial in front of a jury in Linz on Friday. The prosecution accuses him of Holocaust denial because he is said to have compared exit restrictions and compulsory vaccinations with the persecution of Jews on internet platforms. There is a risk of one to ten years in prison.

The defendant was repeatedly involved in serious conflicts with the police and authorities during the pandemic. In March 2022, he was suspended for regarding a year partly for defamation, false evidence, slander, insult and falsification of evidence. Further investigations are ongoing once morest the man following his wife died of cancer for which she apparently did not seek treatment. When he was arrested in January for hiding before his trial, he had her body in the trunk of his car.
