Fathi Al-Masry, a member of the Supreme Judicial Council and head of the former Egyptian Sports Arbitration Annulment Department and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Kamet Center for Sports Arbitration, revealed that the Corona virus might cause a player’s contract to be terminated if he turned into a compulsive disease.

And Al-Masry indicated during the closing day of the Sports and Law Conference that is being held in Egypt that if the Corona virus did not reach a high point of the severity of the disease, it did not violate the contract, but in the event of an exacerbation of the injury, the contract would be voided because it would be included under the compulsive disease clause.

Mahmoud Al-Khatib, President of Al-Ahly Club, Taher Abu Zaid, former Minister of Youth and Sports, and Ahmed Nasser, President of OCSA, attended the first sessions of the Second Conference on Sports and Law held at the organization’s headquarters the day before yesterday.

The conference is held to discuss sports contracts and settle their disputes locally and internationally.

Al-Hattlan stressed that the conference aims to familiarize the participants with how to formulate contracts in the sports field and the developments of the international regulations related to them, especially with regard to player transfer contracts, agency and sponsorship contracts, sports investment contracts, and rules for settling disputes before national arbitration centers and bodies and before the court. International sports.

The conference will witness introductory sessions and a workshop to define the rules governing sponsorship contracts for sports federations, clubs and players.
