The list of official symptoms of COVID-19 has expanded to include nine new signs of infection with the Corona virus.
The Public Health Agency’s awareness page included symptoms such as sore throat, muscle pain and diarrhea.
The announcement comes more than two years following the start of the epidemic, and days following the end of the free examination in England.
However, the British Ministry of Health warned that many of these new symptoms are “very similar” to those caused by a cold or flu.
The main symptoms of Covid infection, which were discovered in Britain, are:
*new persistent cough
*Loss of smell or taste
It has been known since the early days of the epidemic that this trio is the most prominent symptom of the disease, and the World Health Organization and other countries, including the United States, have used a longer list of symptoms for some time.
However there has been debate in the UK regarding what symptoms should be accurately recognized and whether someone should be tested for COVID-19.
Headaches are a well-known symptom of COVID-19, but we may not want to test everyone with one symptom, as there are many other causes.
It was agreed that fever, cough, or loss of smell or taste were major symptoms of Covid, as they were either present in most cases of Covid, or caused almost exclusively by the virus.
But the list now includes nine new symptoms:
*Feeling tired or exhausted
* A blocked or runny nose
*Loss of desire to eat
Covid infection has reached a record high in the UK, where 4.9 million people (regarding 1 in 13) have tested positive for the virus. The free test for most people in England ended last week.
And the British Ministry of Health says that people should stay at home and avoid others in the event of a high temperature or symptoms of Covid, or if a person’s symptoms are so bad that you are not well enough to work.
Professor Tim Spector, from King’s College London, has campaigned for an expanded list of symptoms due to
Data coming from people who track their symptoms in the ZOE app.
“The main symptoms of coronavirus have finally changed following two years of stress…what a thing,” he said.
