“I’m devastated”: Lucas Cordalis can’t go to the jungle camp for the time being. Daniela Katzenberger also spoke up.
Lucas Cordalis (54) has commented on his preliminary jungle camp. “I’m really devastated,” he explained in a video, which he shared on his Instagram stories. The singer is missing on Friday when entering the jungle camp because the corona virus was detected in a PCR test after entering South Africa. RTL had previously announced this.
“All candidates are tested here again and again,” Cordalis said on Instagram. “My last PCR test was just positive.” He also confirmed that he is doing well: “I feel really strong, I have no symptoms at all.” But the rules in South Africa are that after a positive test you have to self-isolate for ten days.
Cordalis also said in the video: “I have to wait and hope. Anyone who knows me knows: I never give up hope. I always fight to the end. Keep your fingers crossed that it still works out, somehow.” He wishes all other jungle campers “a lot of fun”, he keeps his fingers crossed, so the 54-year-old.

At the same time, Lucas Cordalis’ wife Daniela Katzenberger (35) also made a statement on Instagram. She also shared a video in her stories. “Today is such a really shitty day,” she explains in the usual direct manner. She has known since last night that her husband has Corona. He only told her when their daughter Sophia (6) was in bed so she wouldn’t worry.
Katzenberger also made it clear that Lucas could not have contracted her mother Iris Klein (54). Last week it became known that she could not take part in the show “Battle of the Reality Stars” due to a corona infection. Klein was quoted by “Bild”: “I’m so sad that I can’t be there. I was really looking forward to my participation.” She gave a health update via Instagram story: “Don’t worry, because I’m doing relatively well. Luckily I’m vaccinated and boosted and therefore have a mild course.”
“Either all or nothing”
Daniela Katzenberger now said in her video that her husband had no contact with her mother. Lucas Cordalis was already “long gone”, in quarantine, and had previously been tested. In addition, Katzenberger also has a clear opinion on how to proceed in the matter of the jungle camp: If her husband still goes on the show as a latecomer, it would be “only half a story” for her. She advises: “Either completely or not at all”. Lucas should rather “start healthy” on the show next year and “attack properly again”. At home, Sophia and she are healthy, but “brutally sad”. The two had already planned a “chips and ice cream party” for the jungle camp move-in, she reveals.
It is not yet clear whether Cordalis will move into the camp at a later date, according to RTL. The entry of the remaining eleven celebrities into the jungle camp will start on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 9:30 p.m. on RTL and RTL+.
