==============================

A total of 2,984 people tested positive for COVID-19 across the country from 00:00 to 9pm yesterday.

This is 312 fewer people than the number counted at the same time the day before.

By adding the count by midnight, the number of new confirmed cases to be announced today is expected to reach the mid-3,000s.

Although the number of new confirmed cases has been on the decline for the past week, the government is of the view that the scale of the spread must be further reduced to return to normal life.

“There is a need to further accelerate the current decline and further reduce the size of the epidemic and the number of patients with severe cases.”

Compared to November 1 last year, when the gradual recovery of daily life began, there are still more than double the number of new confirmed cases and severe cases.

The government will announce next week whether or not to extend the social distancing, which ends on the 16th.
