Priska Nufer’s first victory in Crans-Montana was overshadowed. Cornelia Hütter, 29-year-old Ösi-Ass, overturned the finish jump, she crashed hard on the icy slope, slipped to the finish and stayed there dazed. Fans and ski stars cannot watch. But a little later the first all-clear: Hütter can get up.
It is now clear that the Austrian was lucky in misfortune. Although she is still in the hospital in Graz – the examinations revealed a slight concussion and whiplash. But the left knee – Hütter had problems there once more and once more in the past – seems to be intact.
The collateral ligament in the right knee is torn, but the injuries are not as dramatic as first feared.
No start in Lenzerheide
Hütter has already reported from the hospital bed. She posted a picture on her social media showing her injured nose. “Memory lapses, bruises and a broken heart,” she writes.
For the time being she has to take a break, she will skip the Super-G in Lenzerheide. “Meanwhile, I’m doing quite well once more and I only have a slight headache. Of course I would have liked to have been there in Lenzerheide, but concussions are no joke. The important thing now is to give my body the necessary break,” said the 29-year-old.
She will be able to leave the hospital on Tuesday. (mum)
