After 16 years of absence, the American author is back with his second book of 2023, the sequel to Passenger (2023).
At 89, Cormac McCarthy signs his big comeback following 16 years of absence. The author had announced the publication of two novels in 2022, including The passenger (De l’Olivier) published in March 2023 in France, and Stella Maris (De l’Olivier), sequel to the latter published today. Ten years following the events of the first book, we find Alicia Western, twenty years old, in Wisconsin, on the occasion of a therapy where the young American will try to give the keys to her inner world. A tormented world, ruled by the figures of her grandmother, her mentor, the mathematician Alexandre, and her brother Bobby, who loves her with an impossible love. Direct continuation of Passenger, Stella Maris illuminates the gray areas of the first book and offers a one-way trip to the other side of the looking glass.
