Coric gains 123 places to become 29th, Tsitsipas 5th

The Croatian Borna Coric, surprise winner of the Cincinnati tournament, made a leap in the ATP ranking published on Monday, and became the 29th in the world by advancing 123 places.

Already beaten by world No. 3 Rafael Nadal in the second round, Coric beat the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-6 (7/0), 6-2 on Sunday.

This is the first Masters 1000 title for the 25-year-old Croatian, returning from shoulder surgery last year, and whose last final on the circuit dates back to 2020 in Saint-Petersburg.

In the Top 10, still dominated by Russian Daniil Medvedev, Tsitsipas took 5th place at the expense of Casper Ruud, who paid for his second round defeat in Cincinnati. The Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime (8th) and the Briton Cameron Norrie (9th) reach the best ranking of their career.
