Snoop Dogg and Shanté Broadus’ daughter Cori Broadus is on the mend following experiencing a severe stroke last Thursday.

“She’s doing a little bit better,” the rapper told People at this week’s premiere of The Underdoggs in Los Angeles. In response to an inquiry regarding whether the health scare has shifted his perspective on life at all, Snoop Dogg added: “Yeah, yeah. Something like that.”

Broadus, 24, has been sharing brief updates on Instagram since her initial hospitalization. On Tuesday evening, she said she might be able to return home as soon as Wednesday. “They took me off heaprin tonight (blood thinner) & most likely can go home tomorrow,” she wrote in a post.

Once stable following the stroke, Broadus explained: “I had a severe stroke this a.m. I started breaking down crying when they told me. Like I’m only 24, what did I do in my past to deserve all of this.” She also noted in an Instagram Story that she would share “everything more in depth” once she was settled back at home.

Over the weekend, Broadus shared that her “kidneys were doing terrible” but that doctors had already seen improvement. The rapper’s only daughter was diagnosed with lupus at the age of 6. The autoimmune disease can cause lupus nephritis, a kidney disease that results in inflammation.

“I deal with so much health stuff, and I feel like people don’t really feel me, like I’m being dramatic,” Broadus told People in May 2021. “I’ve been through so much shit.”
