Corentin Tolisso will leave Bayern Munich next summer. As Munich announced on Monday, the midfielder’s expiring contract will not be extended.
In the past few weeks there has been a lot of speculation regarding Corentin Tolisso and his sporting future. As of today, one thing is certain: the Frenchman will definitely leave FC Bayern on July 1, 2022. The club officially confirmed this in a statement on Monday.
“Even in difficult phases, he never let himself be thrown off track”
Club boss Oliver Kahn commented as follows: “Corentin Tolisso was part of our team for five years, which made history, among other things, with the six-title season in 2020. We thank him for his achievements and commitment and wish him all the best for the future.”
Board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic emphasized that the midfielder never gave up, despite numerous setbacks: “We would like to thank Corentin Tolisso for five successful years together. Even in difficult phases, he never let himself be thrown off course and always gave everything for Bayern. We wish him every success on his further path.”
The 27-year-old midfielder joined the German record champions from Olympique Lyon in the summer of 2017 and has made 118 competitive appearances for FC Bayern over the past five years, scoring 21 goals. He celebrated five German championships in Munich, twice winning the DFB Cup and four DFL Supercup victories. He also won the Champions League, the Club World Cup and the European Supercup with FC Bayern.
